I am a Visiting Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Science at Southwestern University. My research agenda focuses on ethnic politics, democratic transitions, and political parties in Europe. My core research project analyzes party politics and governing coalitions in countries where the party system is divided along ethnic lines. An article from this project is published in Party Politics. I am also interested in the impact of ethnic diversity on the democratic trajectories of post-communist countries, and in when and why countries choose to adopt minority rights legislation.
I received my PhD from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in December 2018, and I previously taught at Dartmouth College, Middlebury College, and UNC-Chapel Hill. For more information, my CV is available here.
